Walmart are taking drastic steps to keep workers happy – by scrapping the incessant cycle of overplayed songs.

Earlier this year, Walmart announced a long-awaited minimum wage hike and now it seems the retail giant is taking another – albeit less impressive – step to keep employees happy.

In a meeting with 3,000 store employees, execs finally announced an end to the “constant loop of Celine Dion and Justin Bieber music blasted into stores from headquarters.”
Instead, Radio Walmart will be making a return after a nine-year absence with songs to be chosen by a dedicated DJ.

The three-day corporate event – dubbed Walmart-palooza – also saw bosses promise cash incentives and a looser dress code in the hope that staff will want to stay with the company for longer.

"There is nothing I like better than hearing about your jobs, your ideas, your hopes and dreams, and frustration, and listening to how we can make your lives easier" Walmart U.S. CEO Greg Foran told the store workers in Fayetteville, Alaska. Reminding them, "I’ve done your jobs."
