HRD Talk returns to tackle mental health in the workplace

Among the many vital issues challenging HR professionals to innovate is how to best accommodate the mental health and wellness needs of their employees along the path to organizational success. “CEOs must understand that they can have an impact with their influence, their words…[CEOs] must think about mental health as any other resource that they have,” says Dr. Bill Howatt, Chief of Research with the Conference Board of Canada.

Today’s HR professionals and business leaders are called upon to address employee mental health needs, and are in a position to develop a workplace culture of support and resiliency while still maintaining growth objectives and profitability.

For further insight to this important topic, listen to episode 2 of HRD Talk, now live. Presented by Workplace Safety & Prevention Services, this second installment of HRD  Talk features Dr. Bill Howatt, Chief of Research with the Conference Board of Canada, as he shares his personal journey around mental health and resiliency--and importantly, discusses how CEOs and leadership can accommodate employees dealing with mental health concerns in order to thrive.
