Revealed: The greatest way to reward your leadership team

When it comes to awarding excellence, no sector does it better than HR. From individual recognition to organizational-wide benefits, our people-centric industry knows exactly how to show their appreciation to dedicated employees.

Which is why HRD Canada is committed to rewarding those dedicated HR professionals in return. The Canadian HR awards is back once again to showcase the best and brightest of our industry, from the greatest Canadian HR Team of the Year to The Leadership Agency Award for HR Leader of the Year.

Last year’s winners included our Canadian HR Champion, Carol Leaman of Axonify, our Rising Star winner Diana Trasolini of Paladin Security Group – and MaRS Discovery District, our HRD Reader’s Choice Award winner.

The final award of the night - KPMG in Canada Award for HR Leader of the Year – went to Alexis Corbett of Bank of Canada.

Speaking at last year’s awards night, Soula Courlas, Partner and National Leader, People & Change Services at KMPG encapsulated the spirit of the awards and reminded us of the importance of recognizing our leaders.

“A good leader is someone who’s authentic,” she told HRD. “It’s someone who understands their own strengths and contributions they want to be able to make and is steadfast in that.

“We all need some self-awareness and commitment to being who we are, whilst brining that to the workplace and our colleagues. Leaders shouldn’t be afraid of making mistakes, they shouldn’t fear taking risks – a great leader truly respects everyone around them.”
