Dollarama rewards staff with pandemic bonuses

Employees at Dollarama will be celebrating an extra special festive season this year, as management announces a one-time Christmas bonus.

The retail chain employees around 26,000 people across Canada – all of which will receive ‘gratitude’ payments in their next wage packet.

“I wish to recognize our people for their efforts and dedication as the pandemic has become our new reality and with COVID-19 safety measures now part of our everyday operating procedures,” added Dollarama CEO Neil Rossy.

Full-time employees will reportedly receive $300 while part-time workers will get $200.

Earlier this year, Woolworths awarded staff with $750 worth of company shares to thank employees for their effort during the pandemic.

“From protests in Hong Kong, droughts and bushfires in Australia to the devastating volcanic activity in New Zealand and finally COVID-19, we have pulled together as a team to support each other, our customers and the communities in which we live and operate,” Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci added.

“This has taken an enormous amount of hard work and dedication and through our collective commitment we have indeed lived our purpose of creating better experiences together for a better tomorrow.”
