Ontario’s latest public-sector salary disclosures show sizeable pay increases for Premier Doug Ford’s daughter, Kara Ford, which has generated buzz online.
The Sunshine List data for Runnymede Healthcare Centre show that Kara earned $132,702 in 2023 and $157,884 in 2024 — a 19% increase — followed by $211,468 in 2025 (with $24,762 in taxable benefits), for a 33.94% increase.
She is listed as a Director of Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement.
In contrast, Premier Doug Ford’s earnings on the Sunshine List showed minimal movement from 2023 to 2024: $208,974 in both 2023 and 2024, but then a sizeable increase of 25% for 2025, with a salary of $269,567.
Ontario’s latest sunshine list shows that human resources and people‑strategy leaders are among the best‑paid executives in the provincial public sector, with several HR execs earning well over $350,000 in 2025. The highest-earning human resources executive in Ontario in 2024 brought in more than $486,000.
Top earners at universities
Also under scrutiny are the presidents at some of the province’s largest colleges, with many earning salaries near the half-million-dollar mark, even as institutions contend with deep layoffs, program cuts and acute funding pressure.
Global News reports that, based on 2025 Sunshine List data, the average pay for the presidents of Conestoga, Fleming, Humber, Seneca and Mohawk colleges was “roughly $507,000 — up around three per cent from the year before.”
At the top of the list is John Tibbits, the recently departed president of Conestoga College, earning $601,684 in pay last year. While the total is down from the $636,106 he received in 2024, it's still considerably more than $494,716 earned in 2023.
Fleming College’s former president, Maureen Adamson, had the second-highest compensation at $512,428 in 2025 — up from $357,338 in 2024.
