A young entrepreneur will have the chance to learn from the CEO’s vantage point

‘CEO for One Month’: Canadian winner revealed

It’s going to be one memorable summer for a fledgling entrepreneur who was recently named ‘CEO for One Month’ by staffing firm Adecco Canada.

Frances Doria bested more than 3,500 applicants vying for a unique internship program at the firm.

At a time when mentorship is becoming crucial to empowering diverse leaders, the CEO for One Month initiative will give the winner an opportunity to learn first-hand from Adecco Canada’s president Gilbert Boileau.

Doria will join 47 other ‘intern CEOs’ worldwide who will shadow Adecco’s top leaders and gain experience from the company’s HR, management, finance and marketing teams.

Intern CEOs like Doria are also eligible to serve as The Adecco Group’s global CEO for One Month. The overall winner will be mentored by CEO Alain Dehaze.

“I am ready to take on this experience as my training ground for my own leadership journey,” said Doria, a graduate of McGill University and Hult International Business School. She is now working to establish her consulting business.

“I have been extremely privileged in my early career to gain extensive experience in meeting and negotiating with dozens of multinational CEOs throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia,” she said.

“Now, I am excited to learn from the vantage point of the power seat itself, and truly understand how a CEO navigates, pivots and prioritizes on a daily basis.”

From the thousands of hopefuls who sent in their applications, Adecco Canada selected a final group of three who underwent a ‘virtual’ boot camp.

Boileau, along with a selection committee, interviewed the top finalists before deciding on a winner who will represent Canada globally.

“The invaluable insights gained from such an experience cannot be taught at school or shared in university lectures,” Boileau said. “It is an ideal launching pad for personal and professional development.”
