One hopeful decided to send his CV to prospective employers with a fun, new spin
A jobseeker in the UK is drawing people’s attention online after he printed his CV on homemade miniature cereal boxes and shared photos of them on Twitter.
Lee MacNeall, 30, found out his job at the Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust was going to end in January. To help himself land a new gig, he decided to send his CV to prospective employers but with a fun, new spin.
MacNeall spent three days coming up with ways to incorporate his credentials into cereal box designs. He then took photos of the box art and posted them on social media.
So my job comes to an end in Jan... taking a leap here and decided to get creative with my CV. So choosing 10 employers i want to work for and sending these to them... complete with cereal! pic.twitter.com/1JPAYTeq1P

It didn’t take long for the new take on the standard CV to get the attention of internet users, who mostly lauded MacNeall’s creativity.

“I love this. Would definitely get attention within the creative and marketing sectors,” one user wrote. “You should patent the idea and set up in business!!”

Meanwhile, another commenter shared how they tried a similar idea but with a shoe. They sent the idea with a note saying, “Now I’ve got one foot through the door, how about the other[?]” It worked for them, so they hoped it would work for MacNeall as well.
I did this with a shoe and sent one in to five employers. With a note saying “Now I’ve got one foot through the door, how about the other”. And it worked. I’ve got no doubt it will work for you. Good luck ππΎππΎ

The cereal box designs also had some employers lining up on LinkedIn and other platforms to snag the jobseeker’s services.
“If you were after a design job, we have one going at my place. It’s a good example!” another user wrote.

In an interview with FEMAIL, MacNeall said he got the inspiration from a new Jax Jones and Ella Henderson music video.
He saw a large cereal packet that was used as a prop and wondered how people could use everyday items to market themselves as well. When he couldn’t find any box designs that he liked online, he just decided to create his own.
