The pros and cons of offering paid pre-cations

As the latest Silicon Valley trend takes hold, we ask if paid pre-cations are really sending the right message to potential new hires.

    I can see where it might be a good idea - what employer wants someone who is burnt out or exhausted from their last job starting work with them if there is no break between assignments?
    Also, it has to be paid otherwise you risk the potential new employee finding a job with someone else if you tell them they can have the job but they have to wait x number of weeks before they can start.
    Of course this is an "only in the US" sort of scenario - as most people in AUS either take leave during employment or do have some paid time left at the end they could "live off" in between.
