HRD Awards Asia to recognise top HR teams and employers

As we navigate the tricky waters of 2020, it’s more important than ever before to reward your loyal employees. Recognition is a key pillar of HR, with 40% of workers agreeing that being recognized on a regular basis would fuel their energy and dedication.

In that vein, HRD is proud to present the very first HRD Awards Asia – a chance to publicly honour teams and individuals who’ve made a huge difference to your organization in the past year.

Nominations for the first-ever HRD Awards Asia are being made in huge numbers—and the field remains open to those who have yet to take part.

Presented by HRD Asia, this awards program celebrates and recognizes the very best of the HR profession across Asia. During the incredible challenges of the past 12 months, it aims to offer a true snapshot of those who have stepped up and put their people first at a time when it mattered most.

Among the 18 categories are those focusing on the achievements of top HR teams and companies, including:

  • HR Team of the Year (≤ 1000 Employees)
  • HR Team of the Year (>1000 Employees)
  • Employer of Choice (1-99 Employees)
  • Employer of Choice (100 - 999 Employees)
  • Employer of Choice (>1000 Employees)
  • Employer of Choice (Public Sector & NFP)
  • HR Director of the Year
  • HR Manager of the Year
  • Rising HR Star of the Year

We encourage HR professionals across Asia to nominate their team, colleagues, company, or themselves before the deadline of 18 September. The process of submitting a nomination is straightforward and free.

Winners will be announced in HRD Asia online in October. They will also be promoted for their achievements and thought leadership across HRD Asia’s online content and industry events throughout the year. This is an unparalleled opportunity guaranteeing profession-wide recognition and a true acknowledgement that the winners are at the very top of their game.

Renowned in Canada and Australia, HRD Awards are a staple in the industry - attracting global attention in the HR world.

Speaking at last year’s awards in Canada, winner of The KPMG in Canada Award for HR Champion (CEO) - why Lynn Oldfield, CEO of AIG Canada – explained her sheer joy at taking home the accolade.

“I am honored,” Oldfield told HRD. “It is such a privilege. The nominees were iconic men in iconic organizations – so to be the only female finalist and to have been successful, is just a testament to everything we’re doing at AIG.”

And it’s not just the winners who’re overwhelmed, our esteemed sponsors are always over-flowing with praise – as Jamie Hoobanoff, founder of The Leadership Agency and sponsor of The Leadership Agency Award for HR Leader of the Year told HRD.

“The HR leader of the year award to us represents the voice of HR,” she explained on the night. “It can’t be a more important and more exciting time to be an HR professional. And I think all it takes sometimes is one person to be the voice of disruption, to be the voice of diversity, to be the voice of inclusion, to be the voice of the people of an organization and what could be more important than that?

“We’ve seen some really amazing diversity in terms of the types of companies that have won, the types of leaders who have won, from start-ups, to Fortune 500, to companies with no budget, to companies with millions of dollars of budget in their HR department. So, we’re just so happy to see that HRD captures all of that.”
