HR Director of the Year making waves in the industry

As the HR role continues to change, it is now about partnering with other business divisions rather than focusing on people issues in isolation or serving simply as a support function.

As the HR role continues to change, it is now about partnering with other business divisions rather than focusing on people issues in isolation or serving simply as a support function.

Simone Carroll, GM of people and brand for REA Group and winner of this year’s HR Director of the Year award, calls this the ‘relationship era’. Earlier this year, Carroll repositioned her HR team as ‘people and brand’ to blend the wider brand strategy with HR functions. By driving greater consistency inside and outside the workplace, employees themselves become brand ambassadors, enabling the organisation to have a greater impact on consumer opinion.

Carroll is one of the keynote speakers for the National HR Summit returning to Sydney next April. The event is focused on HR best practice, featuring presentations delivered by award-winning HR directors and business leaders.
