Airbnb has decided to do away with its HR function, replacing it with a new group focused entirely on ‘employee experience’.

Nice click bait. HR is still at Airbnb with an expanded role to administer food and facilities. This has already been done by some corporates. It looks like a branding alignment activity which may/might/possibly add value and some energy / excitement for a little while. Human Capital and People/ Capability or People & Culture might not be aligned to Airbnb brand. Whatever it's called Airbnb still have a HR function and it has gotten bigger. There are more names / brands being created for HR everyday. It's a naming issue and not a content issue.
