'Building communities' has suddenly become the passion of every club, company, rock band, and action group in the rush on social media. Do the same rules apply to building communities for the workforce? Kate Crawshaw explores the social revolution.

You have really nailed it in this article and how the transition from "acquisition" to "community builders"

As a vendor or Talent Community technology with our award winning Tribepad platform we are really noticing the positive effects of engagement with jobseekers on their terms within a community environment.

The paragraph which summed this up for me as being a great article was:-

"To candidates, it's not recruitment - it's engagement. Establishing ongoing relationships via honest communication with the people they'll be sitting next to in the truck. For the company, it's about building a sustainable pipeline of candidates, deeper intelligence, and a brand for doing things differently: with good humour and a passion for the job"

Our clients want exactly these experiences for their job seeking community - they want their employee value proposition to filter to the person considering their options with the business and having had a great experience refer their colleagues and peer group to do the same.
