Founded in 1912, Dale Carnegie Training specialises in assisting organisations reach their goals by fostering management, communications and workplace relationship skills. Dale Carnegie wrote the book on such matters: How To Win Friends and Influence People.

The Dale Carnegie Immersion Seminar is a streamlined version of Dale Carnegie Training’s flagship program, the Effective Communications & Human Relations course, which runs for one night per week over 12 weeks. In response to business demands, this course was condensed into the Dale Carnegie Immersion Seminar, which covers the same content over a three-day intensive.

The course is broken down into 12 modules: foundations for success; creating an intentional future; commit to strengthen relationships; becoming more persuasive; strengthening relationships; commit to gaining enthusiastic cooperation; making your ideas clear; crashing through barriers; increasing your enthusiasm; stating your opinion; developing flexibility; and developing a vision for the future.

Much of the course is based on the time tested principles in Dale Carnegie’s original How To Win Friends and Influence People. Course content has, however, been refined in some areas and expanded in others, making it one of the most relevant and effective courses for managers in the market today.

The Dale Carnegie Immersion Seminar is more akin to a coaching and development process, designed to help participants meet organisational goals and overcome business challenges as well as develop personal effectiveness.

Participants undergo an initial corporate and individual needs analysis, and are enrolled in the “Carnegie action system”, a 12-month ongoing support tool to help participants continually apply what they have learned. They also undergo a personal continued development coaching session within one month of the final group session, with a Dale Carnegie representative, the participant and the participant’s line manager/mentor.

There is a wonderful simplicity to this course. There’s no jargon and no complicated models of effective management – just the common sense basics of good communication, which are all too often overlooked in unnecessarily complex models from other training providers.

Good management is not rocket science, and for managers with less than desirable people skills, attitudinal changes are needed. This course is designed to address points which need changing, and is a good springboard to some of the more specific Dale Carnegie courses on better leadership and sales effectiveness.

For HR professionals who are frustrated by executives and line managers who are technically proficient but non compos mentis when it comes to people skills, Dale Carnegie training is a gem. Having attended many training courses and seen umpteen number of leadership training services and products over the years, Dale Carnegie Training is one of the standout options for HR professionals looking to bring managerial people skills up to par.
