HR professionals are the latest candidates in demand in Western Australia’s job market as a result of the ongoing employment boom, according to Hays Human Resources. Strong economic growth, which has been heavily influenced by the resources and mining as well as oil and gas industries, continues to influence this boom and push demand for specialists higher. The strength of the construction, information technology, telecommunications, engineering and financial services industries are also increasing demand. New OHS requirements and industrial relations changes have also created a higher number of human resources vacancies.

Chandler Macleod acquires Diversiti

Chandler Macleod recently acquired IT contracting and recruitment provider Diversiti from Accenture Australia. Diversiti specialises in providing contract and permanent staff to government bodies and private corporations engaged in IT implementation projects, and deploys about 450 contractors to around 100 clients across Australia. With revenues in the order of $65 million per annum, the acquisition of Diversiti will give Chandler Macleod exposure to the fast growing IT contracting and recruitment sector, according to Chandler Macleod managing director, Stephen Cartwright.

First Advantage acquires Refsure AB

RefsureAB was recently acquired by risk mitigation and business solutions provider, First Advantage. The acquisition will assist Refsure Australian Background in offering more business risk management services and provide Australian and New Zealand companies with a global solution which can be applied across their international branch offices, according to Luke Battah, managing director of RefsureAB. He will remain as managing director for Australasia and Peter Stackpole will assume the role of vice president of operations.
