Unlocking the future of HR: Embracing AI, ethics, and innovation

Fresh from his recent Disrupt HR event and brandishing a powerhouse of fresh ideas, disruption, and creativity, HR expert Jeff Waldman, founder and principle at Scale HR, shares valuable insights on the transformative power of AI in the HR landscape.

“We had a lot of really interesting topics,” he said, “but one in particular was how talent and HR practitioners can leverage AI, notably, ChatGPT for their work.”

Waldman was quick to point out HR’s willingness to adopt technology, but added that many are just beginning to explore its potential.

“People are open to it; they just want to know that they can trust it, but bias is a significant concern,” he said.

Complete bias elimination may be a lofty goal but data sets can be updated and adjusted to promote fairness, said Waldman.

“HR practitioners should establish relationships with data experts and hold technology vendors accountable.”

AI isn’t here to replace humans

Modern technology isn’t here to replace human resources but to augment their capabilities, he said.

“Technology can handle administrative functions, generating more value than any one person can,” said Waldman, adding it’s all about scalability and empowering HR professionals to focus on strategic aspects of their work.

Ultimately, we face a future where technology is inescapable, he said.

"The future of HR is intertwined with technology. Embracing AI isn't just an option; it's a necessity to stay ahead in the competitive HR landscape."
