Coca-Cola Amatil NZ celebrates being named one of country’s top employers

Coca-Cola Amatil NZ is celebrating being named as one of the country’s top employers. The iconic food and drinks company ranked number one in the FMCG sector as part of the 2020 Randstad Employment Brand Research.

Speaking to HRD, Amatil NZ’s general manager of people and culture, Susan Lowe, said employer brand has become particularly important to attract and retain talent as they navigate the post-pandemic climate.

“Our people are what make Coca-Cola Amatil New Zealand such a special place to work and we are honoured to have been named one of the country's most attractive employers,” she said. “We believe reputation is built from the inside out and the results from Randstad reflect the investment we've made in our people, culture and leadership. To have this recognised is fantastic and an indicator that we continue to be on the right track.”

Lowe said she has been especially proud of how Amatil has looked after its staff during the uncertainty of COVID-19, adopting new practices to create a safe environment where employees can thrive.

“We know that job security is front of mind for New Zealanders and we are proud this was included in our top three drivers, alongside financial health and the use of latest tech,” she said. “We’re also proud to be able to provide certainty by keeping all our staff employed and paid 100% of their wages, and we have repaid the $7.2M wage subsidy in full.”

In its eighth year in NZ, the annual Randstad Employment Brand Research largest is currently the independent piece of employer branding research in the world.

Randstad NZ Country Manager Katherine Swan said organisations which were able to recognise the change in employee values have navigated the pandemic well and it has reflected positively on their employer brand.

“Our post lockdown research showed employees now value job security above all else. It’s been encouraging to see organisations within New Zealand adapting, creating new opportunities and using new technology,” she said. “Employees will be presented with a wave of opportunities, which will allow businesses to grow while creating a positive working environment for their people.”
