New Zealand's HR leaders have done an incredible job in 2021, says CHRO

New Zealand’s highly anticipated National HR Summit 2022 is on the horizon, and attendees can look forward to an event featuring high-profile speakers, networking opportunities, and thought-provoking panel discussions.

With the HR industry at a turning point, this year’s panels will examine a broad range of topics – from the changing role of the HR leader to the great resignation and how companies can retain their best employees. The Summit is sponsored by event partner ELMO Software. Commenting on the upcoming event, CHRO Monica Watt said that the industry has done “an extraordinary” job managing the impact of the pandemic over the last several years, and the event will no doubt be a great opportunity to get together, network, and share insights.

"ELMO is thrilled to sponsor the National HR Summit NZ,” Watt said. “It is important that HR professionals continue to learn with and from each other and celebrate our successes. New Zealand HR professionals have done an extraordinary job in unusual circumstances through the pandemic, this event is our chance to come together as a profession.”

The Summit will also examine some of the challenges facing the HR industry in the coming year. A panel featuring Auckland Transport and TradeMe will discuss the impact of the great resignation, hybrid work environments and the changing role of company culture, and The Warehouse Group will share insights on how to adapt and thrive in the face of uncertainty.Monica Watt says she is particularly looking forward to hearing about the employee experience, and how companies can best enable their staff to adapt and thrive at work.

"HR professionals working together are better placed to appreciate how each other have handled similar challenges,” Watt said. “The agenda for the National HR Summit NZ is filled with fascinating speakers sharing their insights and lessons. Personally, I am looking forward to learning more from Gabrielle Cutfield at Re-leased about how they have redefined the employee experience."

"HR professionals worldwide have managed the impacts of COVID-19 in the workplace,” Watt concluded. “We have a great opportunity thanks to the recovery. The challenge ahead due to the 'great resignation/realignment', skills shortages, leadership development and hybrid working will certainly make for interesting times for businesses and HR professionals.”
