“The awards shine a spotlight on all the awesome mahi that HR professionals are doing and showcases the talent out there on a national scale,” said Jessica Hayes, people and experience specialist at Auckland Transport, winner of the best in-house wellness program at the 2022 awards.

Winners of the HR team of the year in 2022, NZME entered the awards because their culture and performance team were receiving great feedback from internal stakeholders on the range of people initiatives they had implemented. “The nomination process was an opportunity to really reflect on everything that had been achieved and it was so awesome for our small team to receive the recognition,” said Simon Brown, head of culture and performance.

“We are doing great things at eStar to make our workplace one where people come first, are heard and contribute to making eStar a great place to work,” said Amy Berry, business support manager at eStar who won an Employer of Choice excellence award at last year’s awards. “Being recognised for this not only lets us know we are doing a good job but is also a pat on the back for our people and an acknowledgement of their efforts in making eStar a great place to work.”

The annual HRD Awards is the leading independent awards program in New Zealand. The awards showcase the country’s most outstanding HR teams, leaders and employers for their innovation, best practices, and achievements in the HR profession over the past 12 months.

There are seven categories open to in-house HR teams, HR leaders, and programs across areas such as leadership, workplace flexibility, employee wellbeing, diversity, and more.

Award categories include:

  • NZ HR Director of the Year
  • NZ HR Rising Star
  • Best Reward & Recognition Program
  • Best Workplace Diversity & Inclusion Program
  • Service Provider of the Year

We encourage you to put forward your team, programs, colleagues, or even yourself, for as many categories as you like.
