Prince Harry hired at mental health start-up

Prince Harry has landed a new role as none other than chief impact officer for mental health firm BetterUp. As an executive at the $1bn Silicon Valley start-up, Prince Harry said his main goal in this new role was to "lift up critical dialogues around mental health, build supportive and compassionate communities, and foster an environment for honest and vulnerable conversations".

There’s no clear information as of yet around Prince Harry’s working hours or salary – however, the Prince has revealed that his will not be managing people or have employees that report directly to him. Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Prince Harry said: “I intend to help create impact in people’s lives. Proactive coaching provides endless possibilities for personal development, increased awareness, and an all-round better life.”

BetterUp CEO Alexi Robichaux add that the Prince was introduced to him by a mutual friend – and that his new post as chief impact officer is a “meaningful and meaty role”.

This is the latest news following the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s dramatic tell-all interview with US TV host Oprah Winfrey. The series of events led to Buckingham Palace launching an internal HR investigation into claims that Markle bullied staff, with the Palace adding that the Royal Household “does not and will not tolerate bullying or harassment”.

What’s more, reports have emerged that Buckingham Palace is looking to hire a diversity tsar in a bid to foster a more inclusive environment.
