Takes employees around ‘vibrant coastal towns in southern Europe’
Cruise line Virgin Voyages is inviting remote workers to an exclusive "work from helm" voyage that is aimed at elevating employees' work-from-home experience.
Virgin Voyages has launched a new Scarlet Summer Season Pass that will take remote workers to a "workcation adventure through the vibrant coastal towns of southern Europe."
The cruise line is offering four separate voyages in June, July, August, and September. The back-to-back trips will take employees to places like Cannes, Rome, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, and Corsica.
"No longer does working from home mean being tied to a desk or home office and eating leftovers for lunch," said Virgin Voyages CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu as quoted by USA TODAY.
"With our latest WiFi upgrades, Virgin Voyages can now offer our sailors the chance to see the world while working from a daybed at The Dock (outdoor lounge) and sampling Mediterranean mezzes, then hopping off the ship in between calls to make the most of our incredible ports of call."
Employees can also enjoy premium Wi-Fi, a $10 daily coffee credit per cabin, Wash & Fold laundry service, among others.
According to Virgin Group, the offer is inspired by the philosophy of its founder, Richard Branson, of combining work and play.
"I've been fortunate enough to be able to do my work from anywhere. When I started Virgin, I was actually working out of a houseboat," Branson said in a statement. "I've never thought of work and play as two different things, it's all just living."
