More Australians want to boost their earning capacity this year
Australian employees described their dream job in three ways: stability, fair pay, and good benefits.
This is according to Indeed's latest report, which found that Australians also want to increase their earning capacity this year.
"Indeed's data shows Aussies dream of a stable job that offers fair pay, good benefits and meaningful work," said Sally McKibbin, Career Expert at Indeed, in a statement.
"It's important employers recognise this and offer competitive salaries and opportunities for growth where they can. This is not just about paying more — it's about providing security to employees in an uncertain economy."
The findings come as Indeed's report revealed that Australians are determined to secure higher wages and better job outcomes: 29% of Australians put increasing earning capacity as their top priority this 2025, compared to 22% in the previous year.

Meanwhile, the report also found that employees want to see the following changes in their workplaces this 2025:
The focus on employee wellbeing and mental health comes as one in five employees cite burnout and work stress as their top fears in the workplace.
Their other fears include lack of job stability or security (17%) and not having a competitive salary or receiving a pay rise (15%).
"While financial goals are top of mind, mental health and wellbeing must also remain a priority for employers given burnout continues to be a major concern for workers," McKibbin said.
