Jodette Cleary

Jodette Cleary is the Chief People & Culture Officer at hipages Group, Australia’s leading marketplace connecting customers with trusted trade and home service professionals. Since joining in 2015 as the company’s first Chief People Officer, she has played a key role in scaling the business through rapid growth and transformation, including leading the people strategy through a successful IPO and helping establish hipages as a recognised household brand. 

Jodette is known for building high-performance, values-led cultures that drive both commercial outcomes and employee engagement. Under her leadership, hipages has been recognised as a Top 3 Best Place to Work (2021–2023), Great Place to Work certified (2024 & 2025), and #1 Best Workplace for Women (Work180, 2025, #2 in 2026), alongside multiple Diversity, Equity and Inclusion awards. 

In 2026, Jodette was recognised globally as one of the Top 10 Most Influential Women Leaders and was previously named among HRD’s Global Top 100 HR Directors (2023, finalist 2026), reinforcing her reputation as a leading voice in people strategy and organisational transformation. 

Before hipages, Jodette was Founder and Managing Director of We Know HR, where she established first HR functions and led growth agendas for leading Australian tech companies including RedBalloon, Atlassian, BigCommerce, Nearmap, Campaign Monitor and AppSense. 

Earlier, she was Asia Pacific HR Director for Honeywell Building Solutions, leading large-scale people initiatives across complex, multi-market environments. She has experience across technology, recruitment and mining sectors. 

Jodette holds a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Relations & Psychology from UNSW, a Master of Labour Law and Relations from the University of Sydney, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and serves as a Non-Executive Director for WorkVentures.
