HR job postings in Singapore up 37.1% – Indeed

Job postings for human resources roles in Singapore went up by 37.1% in the past three-month period, according to a new report, which also revealed the proportion of HR professionals leaving their jobs.

Indeed's latest data revealed that HR positions recorded the second-highest increase in job opportunities since June 30, just behind Hospitality and Tourism roles with 64.3%.

The growth in HR job postings comes amid low levels of job-switching in three positions under HR departments, according to the report.

Job-switching in HR

Between 2022 and 2024, just around one in three employees left their HR manager (32.6%), recruiter (33.7%), and safety coordinator (37.7%) roles.

They were listed in Indeed's list of jobs where Singaporeans are least likely to leave, which is topped by registered nurses with an 11.9% job-switching rate from 2022–24.

Callam Pickering, Indeed's APAC Senior Economist, attributed Singaporeans' departure to a variety of reasons, such as higher pay or career advancement.

"Some job seekers might want to reduce stress, improve job security, or enjoy greater work-life balance," Pickering said in a statement.

"Others might be motivated by a bad experience in their current job or external factors, such as redundancy, health, or relocation."

Meanwhile, Singapore's overall job postings went up one per cent in September, bouncing back after two months of consecutive declines, according to Indeed.

"Singapore job postings rebounded slightly in September, but we expect job postings to continue to moderate going forward," Pickering said.

"Despite this, the Singapore labour market remains tight, with the unemployment rate low at two per cent and skill shortages still common."
