Businesses also join inaugural charity walk in support of job reintegration initiative
Businesses across Singapore have raised S$1.45 million to help vulnerable groups return to work through a job reintegration programme under the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) Foundation.
The contributions came from 22 corporations, which will directly support the job training, placement, and employee engagement efforts under the EmployWell initiative.
The programme, launched in 2022, seeks to connect vulnerable groups, such as homeless individuals, persons recovering from mental health conditions, and women facing challenges, to jobs with employers.
It has helped 900 individuals secure jobs with over 140 employers, with 70% of them remaining employed after three months.
"Through EmployWell, the Foundation works closely with programme partners and employers to prepare individuals for meaningful work, while supporting companies in adopting inclusive practices that align business success with social impact," said Jean Tan, CEO of SBF Foundation and Chief Sustainability Officer at SBF, in a statement.
"On average, we collectively place 300 individuals annually into meaningful jobs. Encouragingly, 60% remained employed after six months - each one a life rebuilt, a family strengthened, and a future regained."

The major contributions to the EmployWell initiative come as the SBF Foundation kicked off its inaugural Walk for Work 2025.
More than 1,000 business leaders and employees from over 40 companies participated in the charity walk, which saw participants explore 10 curated exhibition booths that showcased inclusive employment in action.
"We are grateful to our business community not only for showing up but also for generously giving to the cause," Tan said.
"Walk for Work 2025 embodies our collective belief that a resilient economy is one that values every worker - measuring success not only by economic growth but also by social progress and shared purpose."
