New data shows 'increased' hiring activity across most industries
Job ads for human resources and recruitment roles went up in August, as hiring activity picked up in New Zealand after months of little movement.
SEEK NZ's Employment Report showed that HR and recruitment roles had a three per cent increase in job postings in August.
It is among the occupation groups registering the highest increases in the country, just behind Real Estate and Property, which had a four per cent monthly increase.
"There was increased activity across most industries and all of the larger regions in August. We have not seen such broad-based growth in a very long time," said Rob Clark, SEEK NZ country manager, in a statement.
"Hiring within Real Estate & Property has been increasing steadily for the past 13 months, and along with Government & Defence, is among a number of industries to have recorded double-digit annual growth in job ads."

The increase in job postings for various roles in New Zealand was reflected in national data, which had a one per cent month-on-month increase, according to the report.
Quarterly, the report said job postings went up two per cent, while annually, they increased four per cent year-on-year.
"Hiring activity has noticeably picked up this quarter following months of little to no change. We have seen incremental increases the past three months, with data adjusted," Clark said.
By region, Hawke's Bay recorded the highest month-on-month increase in job postings after a four per cent boost. Annually, the West Coast recorded the biggest year-on-year increase with 35%.
"Auckland has now recorded two months of rising ad volumes, which supported the national uptick more broadly, while Otago, Wellington & Canterbury have risen month-on-month and year-on-year," Clark added.

Applications per job ad
Meanwhile, applications per job ad hit record-high levels after going up two per cent in July.
All regions recorded a monthly increase in applications except for Otago (-1%), West Coast (-1%), and Tasman (0%).
Annually, the fastest rise in applications per job ad was recorded in Auckland (20%), Waikato (19%), and Taranaki (17%).
