Last chance to nominate outstanding HR leaders and teams

Time is running out to nominate outstanding HR leaders for the HRD Awards New Zealand 2025.

The awards celebrate achievements in leadership and innovation in the HR profession in the past 12 months across six individual and team categories:

HR Director of the Year
HR Manager of the Year
Rising Star of the Year
Employer of Choice (less than 200 staff)
Employer of Choice (more than 200 staff)
HR Team of the Year

Nominations close on June 27.

Winners will be announced at the national HR Summit NZ on 19 November at The Cloud, Auckland.

Past winners include Christine van Hoffen, head of people at brand tracking platform Tracksuit, who was named as one of the HR Rising Stars of the Year in 2024.

van Hoffen, who describes her career path to people leadership as a “squiggly journey”, oversees Tracksuit’s “radical” pay transparency policy, which allows everyone to see what others are paid.

Last year’s HR Director of the Year was Mark Lewis, from electrical infrastructure provider Connetics, who came to HR via a passion for for mountaineering, ski touring and white-water rafting.

“I’m an accidental HR professional,” Lewis told HRD last year.

“I’m an educator, mainly in the adventure and outdoor sector. That’s what really motivates me, helping people achieve more than they could have imagined. That’s where I came from.”

If you know a great HR leader or team, then jump in now and nominate them for the HRD Awards New Zealand 2025.
