Bart Brichau begins stint as newest Teltrac CEO

Bart Brichau assumed his role as the newest chief executive officer (CEO) of Teltrac Communications on Monday.

Brichau was appointed thanks to his "outstanding track record in the ICT, audio-visual automation, and integration industries" across New Zealand and the world.

He began at Alcatel in Europe in 1991, before managing teams across Europe for various companies. In New Zealand, he spent over six years at Spark managing large ICT technical teams, before joining Microsoft New Zealand as manager of the technical specialist unit.

He was also the managing director of a New Zealand-based e-commerce audio-visual company, which grew in revenue before his exit in 2019. And prior to his stint at Teltrac, he was a Group General Manager at Automation Associates in Auckland.

According to Brichau, he is excited to be a part of the Teltrac team, especially amid the growth of ICT amid the pandemic.

"I am excited to join Teltrac Communications," he said in a statement. "The convergence of ICT and audio-visual technology has accelerated during the COVID pandemic and Teltrac is in prime position to help New Zealand businesses solve their technology challenges."

He replaces Michael Miles, who is now the general manager at Teltrac.

Julie Millar, board chair of Teltrac, said Brichau's skills will add to the existing leadership team of the organisation.

"Bart’s skills will complement and add to the existing skills of the leadership team and particularly Mike Miles, who will take up the position of general manager," said Millar.

"We do sincerely extend our utmost gratitude to Mike Miles for the commitment and dedication he has provided while undertaking the dual role of National Sales Manager and acting CEO."

According to Brichau, he also looks forward in working with the general manager to further the organisation.

"Together with Mike and the Teltrac team, I look forward to further building on the solid foundation that the founders and Craig Hutchison have laid over the last 32 years."

And for Miles, he said on LinkedIn that he also looks forward to a "wider Teltrac team" as general manager.

"I look forward to continuing to work closely with the wider Teltrac team, clients, suppliers and business partners," Miles said on LinkedIn on Monday.

Teltrac is technology solutions provider that has over 100 personnel across various locations in New Zealand.
