Air New Zealand appoints chief corporate affairs officer

Air New Zealand has announced the appointment of their newly created role of chief corporate affairs officer.

Mat Bolland has a corporate affairs history spanning over 20 years, having worked in sectors such as water, telecommunications, and energy.

“By bringing our government relations, regional, cultural and regulatory affairs, and communications functions into one team under Mat, the airline will be well placed to strengthen those key stakeholder relationships which have never been more important,” added Air New Zealand CEO Greg ForanI. “I know Mat is going to make a terrific contribution to shaping our future business for the benefit of all stakeholders.

“It’s an exciting time to come onboard as we look forward to starting up more travel with our close neighbours. We look forward to welcoming Mat to the Air New Zealand team.”

Air New Zealand recently released their long-awaited safety video for staff and customers. The video, entitled the 8th Wonder of the World, quickly went viral.

“Around 30% of people flying on our domestic network are usually visitors from overseas,” added Air New Zealand chief customer and sales officer Leanne Geraghty in an interview with Stuff.

“In the absence of international visitors, the safety video is a unique way to stimulate further local demand, benefiting local tourism operators, the New Zealand economy and Air New Zealand employees.”
