Finding your place in the AI revolution

APAC is on the edge of a massive talent shift. LinkedIn reveals its latest insights, AI-powered tools

Finding your place in the AI revolution

Generative AI may drive one of the most profound talent transformations in the world, according to LinkedIn. The Asia-Pacific market looks to be on the edge of a monumental shift – and with 63% of APAC professionals believing AI will ‘significantly’ change the way they work next year, there is no better time to start upskilling.

LinkedIn’s latest research has revealed that a majority of professionals (66%) are excited about using AI, and see it as a tool that will positively transform the way they work. Although almost a third (28%) feel nervous about their ability to work in the future, most (44%) are excited about AI’s potential in helping them to be more productive.

With this in mind, LinkedIn has released brand new insights and product updatess which aim to help professionals meet this market shift. Its data and insights take a deep dive into what the future of work will look like in APAC, and its new range of AI-powered tools will help professionals to get ahead of the curve.

Massive uptake in AI skills amid rising demand

There’s no doubt that the influence of AI in the workplace is accelerating fast. LinkedIn’s data predicts that job skills will evolve by up to 65% by 2030, and professionals are already picking up AI skills at a rapid rate.

The use of AI in HR and marketing looks set to be particularly prevalent, as professionals are increasingly using AI to do the “heavy lifting” and focusing more on creativity and human interaction. Data shows that 4 of 5 HR professionals already see AI as the ‘invisible teammate’ that can help their work, and 64% of marketers are using AI in their job today.

LinkedIn’s Adam Gregory notes that AI technology is quickly reshaping jobs, businesses and industries – and with so much change underway, there’s no better time for business leaders to assess which skills they’ll need now and into the future.

“Everyone from customer service representatives and sales professionals to teachers, will be able to use the technology to remove some of the drudgery of everyday tasks so they can focus on valuable people-centric work,” Gregory says.

“Professionals will be at the heart of ensuring businesses have the talent and skills they need to thrive. And AI will be a critical tool for them too, helping them to focus on the important “human” aspect of their role, such as connecting and building relationships with candidates, and fostering a strong company culture.”

Bringing new AI-powered tools to the market

The future of work is closely intertwined with the future of learning. No organisation knows this better than LinkedIn, which recently released a range of new AI-powered tools to help professionals navigate a rapidly changing market.

Its upcoming 2024 Rrecruiter tool helps to write more equitable job descriptions, identify candidates with the right skills, and to craft messages to reach out to these candidates. For marketers, LinkedIn has launched its automated B2B marketing campaign creation experience – a tool which recommends end-to-end campaigns, specifically tailored for the right B2B audience.

APAC managing director Feon Ang notes that in the constantly changing dynamics of today’s workforce, upskilling and getting to grips with AI-powered tools has never been more important – otherwise, professionals risk getting left behind.

“[Upskilling] not only empowers professionals and ensures they stay competitive in the future world of work, but also fortifies organisations, fostering agility and adaptability in the face of evolving challenges,” Ang says.

“We firmly believe that prioritising skills creates equitable outcomes for everyone. LinkedIn is committed to supporting businesses and empowering professionals through a focus on hiring for skills, as well as skills development, enabling them to thrive and navigate the future world of work.”
