Increased investment in business transformation projects, mainly in the financial services sector, has boosted the number of IT job placements across Australia by more than 40 per cent compared to the same January to June period in 2003. Research from Hudson has found that blue chip business transformation projects have boosted job numbers and increased average placement salaries across a number of job categories over the past year. IT sales and business development management have lead the way with double-digit salary growth, closely followed by business analysts, according to Andrew Keayes, Hudson’s national practice manager IT&T.

Catalyst Interactive provides e-Learning solution to ADF

Learning solutions firm Catalyst Interactive will develop a multimedia training program for the Australian Defence Force’s new armed reconnaissance helicopter, the ARH Tiger. The program will educate aircrew, ground crew and technicians in the use of the helicopter, which will replace the Army’s fleet of Bell Iroquois gunships and the Bell Kiowa reconnaissance helicopters. An element of the program includes the LearnSwitch enterprise platform, which will provide demonstrations through the use of realistic 3D modelling and also assist non-technical personnel in editing learning objectives and assessing student progress.

Saba and JRS Group partner to offer managed learning service

Human capital development and management solutions provider Saba has announced a partnership with human capital management consultancy, JRS Global, to provide Australian businesses with an integrated managed learning service. The agreement will enable JRS Global to offer small and medium businesses a hosted learning solution, based on Saba Enterprise Learning, through its training company, Dot Educate (.educate). The JRS Group’s service is an improvement on existing services because it gives businesses self-service access to career planning, competency profiling and advanced learning management capabilities.
