Job placement fail: assigned to a brothel

A German labour office was left to answer questions this week after it assigned a teenager to work at a brothel.

A 19-year-old German jobseeker was excited to receive a job offer from the labour office-until she found out the specifics of her future workpalce.

The teenager had sought a housekeeping job through the German labour office and received a letter of successful placement as a waitress in the Augsburg Colosseum brothel, reported local newspaper the Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung.

The job offer shocked both the teenager and her mother, who reportedly screamed when she read the letter. The young lady had listed specifications for a “decent housekeeping job”, she said to the newspaper.

Before sending the placement letter, the agency should have first checked with the woman to see whether she would be interested in the brothel job, admitted Roland Fuerst, the head of the Augsburg labour office, in the report.

Prostitution is legal in Germany.
