Their productivity has gone down since the start of the recession, but Brits are making sure they enjoy their daily lunch hour.

Workers swapping lunch for sneaky trysts

Recent research has shown the British have become less productive since the recession began but not so in their lunch break.

According to a new survey one in 20 Brits use their lunch hour for "lunchtime trysts" the Huffington Post reported.  And it looks like women may be the main instigators with the survey of 2,000 Brits finding men are more than 50% more likely to want to stay and work during their lunch hour than their female colleagues.

Love affairs aren’t the only things workers are getting up to in their midday break. The survey, by sandwich wrap brand Mission Deli Wraps, found a cheeky pint was also a favourite way to pass the hour, with 40% sneaking one over lunch.

While nine per cent of women admitted to popping out for beauty treatments other respondents to the survey admitted going to the theatre and even working a second job as a taxi driver.

The findings also showed that majority of workers didn’t use their full lunch hour with the average person only taking 37 minutes. Additionally, more than half of those surveyed said they felt a sense of dissatisfaction with their lunch-hour.
