Why is your topic (Leading Technology projects - building a strategic HR-IT alliance) so important for HR professionals?

Technology is more important now than ever in the HR environment. With the digitisation of everything and the fact that consumers have better technology in their hands than many workplaces provide, technology is a key part of the employee and candidate experience.

Without a true partnership with IT, it is hard to achieve the long-term benefits offered by new technology. Furthermore, with the pace of change in the technology experience, to act quickly IT need to be on the journey with HR from the start.

What are the biggest challenges that HR professionals face when dealing with your topic?

I would say the speed of change and the need for speed in implementation.

If you could give one piece of advice to HR professionals relating to your topic what would it be?

Start the conversation early, work out what the potential barriers are and what the pain points might be so you can address them.

Why are events like this so important for the HR profession?

It’s important for HR professionals as it’s an opportunity to share successes and challenges and learn from each other. But more importantly, it’s an opportunity for us to support and inspire each other and the industry to push our thinking further.

At the HR Tech Summit, Trenchard-Smith and her panellists will also discuss:
