How can HR prevent an office friendship becoming a conflict of interest?

While some employers have sought to ban office romances, friendships have not been treated in the same way.

    I personally think employers should treat personnel within the company as a resource, rather than a chattel. Friendsips I would view as positive, behaviour in that regard, should be considered in context.
