No matter who you are, it will be almost impossible to escape responsibility for workplace safety when the national model Work Health and Safety Act is adopted by Australian states at the end of this year, according to Norton Rose law firm partner Aaron Anderson

Great advice has been and continues to be given in relation to the new Act. Organisations should not be waiting until the 1 January 2012 to consider the ten points outlined above. As many speakers have indicated in previous Conferences and now about to be reinforced by Aaron Anderson, it will be critically important to understand the implications of the Act and the impact that it might have. The ten steps do provide a positive framework for action and it is great to see such proactive work being undertaken.
