    Great post Julie!

    I particularly liked your reference to innovation and working on strengths. It reinforces my new performance review system I call The 5 Conversations.

    We ought to be having conversations with all employees about capitalising on their innate strengths rather than spending our time and energy trying to overcome weaknesses. An hour spent developing a natural talent will go further than an hour working on a weakness.

    Managers should also have conversations with their staff about ways and means of making the organisation more efficient and effective. These are two of The 5 Conversations in my new performance review process.
