2.4M COVID test kits for Ontario employers

The Ontario government is urging employers to adopt mass COVID testing to prevent viral workplace spreading. As part of the push, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and the Ontario Government is rolling out 2.4 million free rapid test kits across the province.

The kits will be delivered to mall- and medium-sized businesses in order to stem the spread and help employees get back to work quicker.

“With vaccinations on the rise and case counts lowering, rapid testing is another critical part of curbing the spread of COVID-19, contributing to the safe reopening of our economy,” added Rocco Rossi, president and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. “As the indispensable partner of business, we are incredibly proud of the Ontario Chamber Network that has quickly mobilized to put free rapid screening kits into the hands of small businesses across Ontario.”

Employers who wish to participate in the mass testing should fill out an order form, before picking up their kits. As part of the move, every company should appoint a ‘screening supervisor’ to take part in training post-pickup.
