For two decades, Elizabeth Divver has been an integral part of the HR team at The Big Issue, a social enterprise committed to dismantling poverty. Her foray into the HR discipline began as the result of a career shift. “I never got the buzz from sales that I got from HR, although I was fairly successful at it and joined my employer’s top performers club,” Divver recounts. “As Group HR Director, my role has a hefty strategic element, but the organisation is small enough for me to need to roll up my sleeves and get stuck in to the more tactical day-to-day work from time to time as well.”
