Donna Sawyer:  A record crowd of more than 800 delegates made their way to the National HR Summit 2012, bringing together the best HR professionals in the industry.  Held at Sydney’s Luna Park, the leading people management event offered free workshops and expo featuring the latest services and products relevant to the industry as well as networking functions and an A-List line up of speakers from Australia’s top companies.

Alec Bashinsky, Deloitte
Alec Bashinsky:  The HR Summit allows HR practitioners a vehicle to continue to build their own skills and continue grow and learn as professionals.  So for that reason alone, I think the Summit has been terrific.
Joydeep Hor, People and Culture Strategies
Joydeep Hor:  There is no doubt that with the kind of numbers that we are expecting that this is the premier HR event in Australia, this year no doubt.
Vaughan Paul, Optus
Vaughan Paul:  It was great to see a really strong vibrant HR community.  There is plenty of stuff to look at and for the HR teams to come down and see and think of about how they can expand their offering.  So actually great event and I look forward to coming back next year.
Donna Sawyer:  World champion surfer, Layne Beachley opened the event with an inspirational talk and announced former Railcorp HR Director, Brian Hartmann as the winner of the lifetime achievement award.  The program was filled with other award winning speakers including Alec Bashinsky of Deloitte, Emma Hogan of Foxtel and Vaughan Paul of Optus just to name a few.  Hundreds of delegates entered the passport challenge with one lucky lady winning a brand new Suzuki Alto.
