“The International Association for Human Resource Information Management is your link to the unique world of HR information management, systems issues, trends, and technology.” So says the homepage of IHRIM.

The above statement will probably hold true if you’re a paying member of IHRIM, but if you’re not, well, it is unlikely to hold much water. Much of the site is restricted to members, including online publications and a products and services directory. However, there are a few areas of interest that are free to casual browsers. Hot topics is worth a look. This area allows members and non-members alike to participate in bulletin conversations on various topics relating to HR. While IHRIM’s membership base is largely in the US and Canada, Australian HR professionals may find it interesting to look at overseas trends. The site also includes a very extensive listing of other HR-related sites.

Aside from this, the site is well designed. No clashing colours, clean layout and no annoying pop-up ads.

While Australian browsers may or may not find any value in the above free resources, the reality is that the real gems to be found at IHRIM are only available to members.
