Luxottica HR head wins business award

Rhonda Brighton, Luxottica’s Senior Vice President of HR, Asia Pacific and Africa, has been awarded the 2009 Telstra NSW Business Woman of the Year.

Brighton, who was featured recently in HR Leader magazine for her innovative HR strategies, was described by the judges as incredibly personable, engaging, inspiring and someone who displayed impressive openness and honesty.

With its headquarters in Milan, Italy, Luxottica is one of the world’s largest eyewear and eyecare companies. When Brighton came on board, she rolled out an HR strategy which included simplifying all people processes – a policy which proved very effective.

Brighton will now progress to the national finals of the 2009 Telstra Business Women’s Awards.
