A company spokeswoman confirmed the workers were terminated yesterday for breaching the airline's policies on internet usage, the Brisbane Times reports.
Public affairs general manager Danielle Keighery said: "We have a clear code of conduct and we don't tolerate misconduct in that sense. An investigation went into play and we ran a very fair process with them and it ended up in termination.”
Keighery added that the code of conduct banned workers from accessing or sharing pornography on work systems, but she did not confirm this was the issue in this case due to privacy concerns.
However, the sacked workers did not engage in illegal behaviour, she said.
