Tread carefully with complaints, employers told

Employers must take heed when dealing with complaints, even when those claims are false

False and spurious complaints can be highly disruptive and damaging for all involved. They may even result in psychological injury for the accused colleague or manager, making it important for HR professionals dealing with such claims to be vigilant.

HRD’s upcoming Employment Law for HR Managers Masterclass series addresses this topic, looking at the implications of recent cases to advise HR professionals on best practice when dealing with vexatious complaints. Experts from Australia’s top law firms will share insight on how to deter vexatious claims without appearing to victim-shame, as well as considerations for HR when disciplining a worker who has made such a claim.

This session is just one of eight on the agenda for the event series which will run across Australia throughout November. Find out more and register online here.
