It may start with the odd terse email, but the insidious creep of incivility can spell big problems for organisations.

What action can be taken when the senior HR staff are themselves displaying this type of behaviour by sending terse and intimidating emails with not even a "Hi", let alone a "please" or a "thank you". Who monitors these people? You can't very well complain to HR, about HR can you.

What a shame it is that 'common courtesy' is no longer common! Incivility is an unacceptable trend that needs to be reversed. Good leaders make the time to say please, thank you & well done, no matter how busy they are.

I agree Jennifer, it is a shame that we have to remind people how to be civil to their colleagues.
