Leadership: One in nine managers should not be on the payroll

The best managers effectively harness their emotions to get the best out of others. Sadly, as Peter Berry writes, one in nine managers are underperforming and demonstrating unacceptable behaviours.

    This article should be mandatory reading for business leaders. However, whilst I am not questioning your study's findings, I am just wondering if 1/10 is a rather conservative figure if one would look at a large cross section of Australian organisations (could it be that your database largely consists of managers who are already interested in EQ??). The 2011 Gallup research findings show that an overwhelming number of workers in Australia feel disengaged or disconnected at work, which, in my opinion, is more often than not related to bad management/leadership.
