HR managers ‘soft’ on industrial relations skillsets

Debate has sparked over comments by the Federal Magistrate’s Court claiming that many of the younger HR managers and HR graduates working in Australia today do not have the skills to deal with industrial relations issues effectively.

    This is an absolutely accurate view of the younger generation of HR practitioners globally.In India for example there is a huge decline in young graduates from business schools opting for their first assignment in the field of employee relations leading to severe skill shortages in this essential competence area.
