One company boosted its number of female engineer employees by 500%. How can you bring more diversity to your workforce?

I was recently made redundant from a Tier 1 construction company and I am female. Whilst I am a HR Manager I was one of very few women with school-aged children and part time work hours to suit. I believe my redundancy selection was due to my part time hours.

The only successful engineers I met, were happily childless. Construction and engineering roles to not lend themselves to flexible working arrangements and therefore women are just getting left behind.

It's all well and good to increase the participation of women in engineering roles, but keeping them there is half the battle.
