    Wow! Some huge assumptions here! HR is, and has for a very long time, been the champion of all these "tips". We are the ones who work with managers to try and convince them to tell the truth and set measurable, achievable goals; align the KPIs with Rewards and provide an environment which does not punish failure!

    Would you get an athlete to write an article for CFOs telling them they need to understand the numbers? Why the assumption that HR people have no idea what they are doing?
