SEEK reveals employee retention strategies in a downmarket

Australian organisations are beginning to encounter the challenges that accompany the changing market conditions. With the looming recession, rising unemployment levels and the Rudd government announcing earlier this week that Australia will cut immigration for the first time in a decade, organisations need to look for ways to retain their existing talent and get the most of out their employees.
On 1–2 April 2009 at the HR Summit Sydney, Meahan Callaghan, HR director at SEEK, will present the fundamentals of building and preserving an appealing workplace during uncertain economic times.

SEEK uses its corporate culture as a unique selling point to attract and retain employees. Meahan will share her advice and guidance to assist HR professionals to utilise SEEK's proven strategies and successfully implement them within their organisation.

Extending beyond financial rewards, HR managers can create a unique selling point applicable to their organisation. Focusing on her first-hand experience at SEEK, Meahan will also explain how the HR department can create a work environment that reduces employee turnover, and develop recruitment techniques based on cultural fit.
